作詞・作曲
この曲の作者はイギリスのシンガー・ソングライターのハリー・ダクレ（Harry Dacre, 本名：Frank Dean, S1857–1922）です。
彼の代表作がこの『Daisy Bell』になります。
Daisy Bell デイジー・ベル
Daisy Bell（デイジー・ベル）は1892年に作られたイギリスの歌です。
タイトルは『Daisy Daisy』とも呼ばれ、「BICYCLE BUILT FOR TWO 二人乗り自転車」というサブタイトルもあります。
作者のハリー・ダクレが初めてアメリカに来た時に、持ち込んだ自転車に輸入税を課せられました。
この時に彼の友人から「二人乗りの自転車を持って来なくて良かったな。関税が2倍になるところだった」と言われ、「二人乗りの自転車」というフレーズが気に入ってこの曲が作られました。
歌詞はデイジーに、結婚して二人乗り自転車に一緒に乗ろうと語ります。
また、この曲は1961年にIBM 7094によってコンピューター音声合成を使用して歌われた最も古い歌だと言われています。
