『London Bridge Is Falling Down　ロンドン橋落ちた』はイギリスの童謡であり歌遊びです。
世界中に様々なバージョンがあり、英語でこの童謡が記された最も古い記録は１７世紀に遡ります。
タイトルは『London Bridge』や『My Fair Lady』などとも呼ばれます。

歌詞は、ロンドン橋の荒廃と、それを修復しようとする様々な空想的な方法を語っています。
歌遊びとしても様々な形式や歌詞があり、最も一般的な遊びは、2人のプレイヤーが手をつないで腕でアーチを作り、残りのプレイヤーが一列になって通り抜けるというものです。
歌の終わりに「アーチ」を下ろしてプレイヤーを捕まえます。
この曲と同じメロディーで歌われる『Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes』も、有名な歌遊びです。

有名な曲ですね。
古い歌なので、「My fair lady」は誰？、ロンドン橋が落ちたのはいつ？、などなど分からないことが多いですが、愛されている歌なので良いかなと思います。
ちゃんと残ってほしい一曲です。
