The Other Day I Met a Bear（森のくまさん）はアメリカの民謡です。
タイトルは他にも『The Bear in the Forest』や『Bear in Tennis Shoes』などでも知られています。
エコーソングとして歌われるアメリカの伝統的なキャンプソングです。
歌詞は、森でクマにばったり会ってしまい、走って逃げて木の枝に飛び付いたと語ります。
追加の歌詞では、クマがチェーンソーで木を切り倒したり、クマから逃れるために湖に飛び込んで、今度はヘビに追いかけられたりもします。
日本語の歌詞は、初期は『親切な熊さん』と呼ばれていて、今は『森の熊さん』となっています。
